Who We Are

The Sisters of Jesus the Saviour is a young growing religious Congregation, which was founded by Rev. Fr. Prof. Emmanuel Matthew Paul Edeh C.S.Sp in the year 1985 in Port Harcourt Diocese.

The Sisters of Jesus the Saviour Congregation, otherwise known as, the Saviourite Sisters (SJS) are based in Elele in the South-East of Nigeria.

The Congregation was founded for a particular need and purpose in the life of the Church.

Our Founder had his inspiration through our Lord's special mission to the sick and suffering people, together with Christ's suffering in the cross. Our father founder always felt compassion for the sick and suffering people of God.

The charism of the Congregation of the sisters of Jesus the Saviour is Perpetual Adoration of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament and caring with compassion.

The apostolate apart from sanctification of its members involves: To care for the sick and suffering in a holistic manner, especially the handicapped, the abjectly poor and abandoned and the troubled youths of the society.

Devotion to Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament (Perpetual Adoration) which strengthens the spirituality of the Congregation. To be sanctified through the practice of vows and observance of the rules and regulations of the Congregation.

Revitalization of the Education of the youths. Thus the Sisters carry on the inspiration and zeal of providing peace to mankind through taking complete care of the sick and suffering people of God in all aspects of caring: physically, spiritually, socially, psychologically and education of the youths everywhere and at all times.

This is practical charity that enables the people whom the Sisters are taking care of to grow as Jesus grew in holiness. The Blessed Sacrament is adored perpetually in all our (when the numbers of Sisters are appropriate).

The formation house, that is, the Novitiate and postulate must have it no matter the number of Sisters in them. Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament is the source of strength sustaining the Sisters in their active apostolate..

we promote the Gospel values through our apostolate, Caring for the sick and suffering people of God in a holistic manner. And pepetual adoration of Jesus the Saviour in the Blessed Sacrament, from where we draw our strength

To be a beacon of Christ's love and compassion, transforming lives through dedicated care for the sick and suffering, and fostering a deep spiritual connection with Jesus the Saviour through perpetual adoration in the Blessed Sacrament.

We aspire to create a community where the Gospel values are lived out daily, bringing healing, hope, and spiritual renewal to all we serve.
